We're off to Cedar Point by Cleveland, Ohio in May and want to get in the most rides possible. We've found they have their VIP Tour Program - waiting for details / pricing to be released on 1st March. Apparently this includes walk on privileges - walk past the queue and get the choice of any seat before anyone else.

I was just wondering if anyone here has any experiences of CP or the VIP program they could share with us.

We went to CP in May last year.
The theme park is OK apart from having to queue an hour for the Top Thrill Dragster every other ride was almost walk on. Millennium Force was closed so I wasn't best pleased about that.
The park wasn't as good as we were expecting to be honest and we only needed a day there but I did only get on TTD just twice :(
If your VIP thing allows unlimited front of line access then fair enough, if it doesn't and just admits you once per ride then i seriously wouldn't bother at the time of year you're going.

We stayed at Hotel Breakers, on site, it was a complete dump and we checked out at 5am the next morning and drove back to Niagra just to get out of that awful hotel! We should've stayed two nights but one was far too long to stay in that dump for, I wouldn't mind it wasn't exactly cheap. The rooms stank, they were damp, the bathroom was in a terrible state and looked like a Butlins chalet I stayed in when I was in the cubs (many years ago ;) )
