The bad news is that the operating licence will transfer from National Express to Govia who are one and the same as the "Southern" operator between London and the South Coast.

So in essence no competition[V][V][V]

Is actually not Govia anymore - Thameslink was part of Govia but they lost the franchise to First Group last year (hence the new name).

Will be interesting to see the changes to the line as I live between Gatwick and London and have to commute every day - hopefully the chance of getting the seat will increase but I doubt it!
