Report on Yahoo! News claims that China Eastern Airlines will announce that Singapore Airlines have bought a stake believed to be 25% in the airline.

Wonder what impact this may have on Virgin's relationship with Air China?

Hmm. Could be handy for me if they allowed some way of earning miles with ANY useful FFP through China Eastern... [:?]

Very interesting especially considering that CA are to join the star alliance.

TG (a founding member) have made it very clear they do not like SQ being in the *a and did threaten a while back that they wanted SQ out or they would leave. SQ could be in a position to operate a very strong alliance of its own.
