Well just a bried note about the Hotel Dom Pedro in Lisbon. Little bit of a walk from the main tourist sights in Lisbon - although you can take a taxi and if you speak Spanish or Portugese, then you might get to the right place! Work trip, so booked late and only had 'superior rooms' available. These are on the top floors - I got one with a lovely view over Lisbon city, although the boss got one overlooking the back of the hotel and a waste ground!!
Massive rooms, huge beds and lovely toiletries in the bathroom (Molten Brown[8D]). TV - only BBC news 24 and Sky News in English - not really a problem as only had time to change and sleep in the room. Breakfast thrown in - including sparkling wine if you felt inclined.
The main surprise was the 'Lounge' available for superior room and suite residents. Now I am usually a Hilton Hotel man as I have Diamond card there and am used to their lounges, including the canapes and free drinkies to get the evening off to a flying start. However this lounge had lovely views over the city but the only things available were diet coke, coke, water and juice. Luckily in miniature bottle and therefore easily taken back for early morning consumption following the drinks the night before. I am not sure if this is usual for Portugese hotel 'lounges', but was slightly surprised by it.
Overall a lovely hotel in Lisbon and if you can get a superior room all the better, and then try and ensure that you get a room on the front of the hotel - the views are stunning!
