Does anyone know of/or can recommend a good restaurant in Nice either French or Italian? Need info in next few days if possible as we will be there this Friday night. Thanks.

Too late I know, but La Reserve de Beaulieu is one of my favourite restaurants for food, and the Chateau de la Chevre d'Or has the most stunning location on the mountain top at Eze. Both are a cab ride from Nice.
The Alain Ducasse Louis XV at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco also has superb food, sadly spoilt by the snobby hotel staff (although the restaurant staff are good) and sometimes the self-important clientele.
So, for foodies it's La Reserve, for romance it's Chevre d'Or, for impressing it's Louis XV.
