This service is being suspended from 29/10. Maybe all the cancellations were due to low bookings rather than technical faults with aircraft?

Washington is a CO/UA town...7 million people in the area..and all of them are given both FF cards at birth.
Washington DC....
Well not too many folks live in Washington DC but in the suburbs. People who live in Northern Virginia are HUGE United fans and about everyone has some sort of status.
People who live in Maryland are Southwest fans as Southwest has frequency out of BWI. Airtran is pretty major too.
All the people in DC fly all the various majors. Not really a big CO town. Long-haul-wise BA, UA and AF are the biggies. Remember BA flies to both IAD and BWI (with a EuroFleet 767).
Washington is a growing market. Aer Lingus, Qatar, Virgin America, Southwest and others have started service in the last year from Washington Dulles. BWI as just added a new terminal that Southwest uses.

But the premier team were fantastic in sorting out a good deal with VS for the return [y]
Grrr. Just interested as to what sort of comp MaxJet offered (if any)?
We weren't offered any compensation but they did offer us the alternative to fly at 1pm from IAD to New York (at their expense) and then fly from New York to London.....leaving us with a long layover in New York with a 3 year old....hence we decided to cancel the maxjet flight and get a full refund [:(!]
This was to be our first trip with them and hasn't left a good taste. [n]

Well at least they offered a viable solution. Granted MaxJet is Washington Dulles based and has Washington based crew so I think Washington should be a focus city. Possibly there are not many contracts on the the IAD route.
Well enjoy DC. I still have no clue why people come to DC. It is boring

BWI is served by an International config 763 so it has PTVs etc and club world seats. Eurofleet doesn't.
Well I guess you are correct from that view point. The BWI flight is served by EuroFleet crew. That is what I was referring to.
Is 'doesn't' a proper contraction? [?]
