DL are the first carrier to publish there new LHR timetable.

DL05 JFK - LHR 0805 - 2020
DL06 LHR - JFK 0815 - 1105

DL156 JFK - LHR 2055 - 0925
DL157 LHR - JFK 1705 - 2010

DL178 ATL - LHR 2300 - 1230
DL179 LHR - ATL 1325 - 1805

All the flights are with 763's at the moment, which is rather surprising considering lack of IFE etc on these aircraft. Guess it just highlights my point in the other thread that the american airlines will need to up there game in terms of inflight product.

JFK timings are interesting as well especially ex JFK- no way could you arrive in UK and go straight into a morning meeting!

It is worth noting that DL's LGW operations will stay the same. So from next year DL will have four LON-JFK daily flights and three LON-ATL daily flights.

Remember we can all earn miles as well on these flights!

So, that leaves Star Alliance as the ONLY group of carriers with NO direct LHR-NYC flights at all, after UA's closure of that route... [:w]

Looks like DL will only be able to compete on price to me and they're pretty crap at that too.

No UCS for DL they are currently upgrading their BE to a new better seat but still not a patch on what is offered by BA and VS.

DL do seem to be going hammer and tongs for the LHR market- I saw the same DL advert five times last night on the box!

I can't see why anyone in their right mind would add flights to JFK, especially in the "2 hour taxi time" rush hours, which seem to be a recipe for disaster as far as disrupting your next day's flying programme.

Siphoning off New England and Upstate NY traffic through BOS would be the way to go, apart from the constraints around international gates at Terminal E at BOS - things are pretty tight around there between about 4pm and 8pm.

To me Star seem to be outmaneuvered in all this LHR open skies stuff. I wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of action by them.

If I was in charge of *a I think I would be applying pressure to BD to couple up with VS and thus make LHR a true Long Haul *a hub.
