When the new terminal is open for the first flight on the 27th, will people be allowed to go and look around the airport (obviously only before the security checkpoint), even though you arent there to collect anyone or to fly out?
Im sure that hundreds of people will be willing to get a look in at it when it opens but i remember hearing somewhere that it could look a bit suspicious if you just go to an airport to wander around?

Basically under Heathrow bylaws it is an offence for anyone to be on airport property who is not flying, dropping off/collecting anyone flying or engaged in airport business. If required to leave you must do so and not return within a set period.

Having said that, I can't see then kicking you out for having a nose around. One reason you might be told to leave is if there is even the remotest chance you are touting for business as a taxi.
