If you have an AmEx Plat card (the £300 fee charge card, not the cash back CC card) then you get HH Au for 1 year (there are loads of promotions and fast track ways to stay Au discussed in the HH forums over on FT once you have it).

If you need it quickly then I wouldn't bother as the application process to get the card takes a while (nrly 2 months) and then it took me another 2 months after being accepted to get my HH status changed.

you get it for every year after that also. I've kept my SPG crd at gold for who knows how long doing this.

You also get a priority pass card every year with plat amex which comes in handy :-)

SPG is for as long as you hold plat charge card the HH Au is supposed to be only for a year.
