Morrisons supermarket double miles on VA card

Just had flyer through this morning.

Double miles on VA card for all groceries bought at Morrisons through Nov & Dec [y]

Might need to venture in and chk out the wines.....

Where did you get the flyer from as I can't find details anywhere. Nothing mentioned on VA or Morrisons websites ?

Yes I've looked around with no mention, on either VA/ MBNA or Morrisons...

Flyer came from MBNA with campaign title 'Double the freshness Double the rewards'.... Also seems to be targeted at the VA Black card.

Hmmmm, I hope we get this, we always shop at Morrisons so would be a nice little bonus. IIRC they did a similar promo with Morrisons last year.

I was sure that my local Morrisons didn't take AMEX, if it does I am a complete chump. I'll go and check it out in a few hours.

All of our local Morrisons take Amex.

I had a look for this offer on the Morrisons and MBNA websites yesterday and couldn't find it. Maybe the marketing dept. is out of sync with the website dept. and it will all appear tomorrow?

Our local Morrisons has accepted Amex for as long as it has been rebranded from a Safeway.

I'd scan the flyer in, but basically does what it says, includes link for morrisons.co.uk to find nearest store, and a link for VA FC for spending miles..

I got the flyer through the post too. Last year they linked up with Waitrose/Ocado and I tried them (switched from Tesco) just to get the miles and have shopped with them ever since. I was hoping they'd repeat it this year, but I can't see us shopping at Morrison's.

Well back from a shop at Morrison's in Pechkam where they do indeed take Amex, what a waste of 3 years of point earning opportunities since the rebranding! Now we just have to wait and see if we actually get the bonus miles as I have just stocked up on a lot of boring household things such as dishwasher tablets and anything else that was on special offer!!

Just checked my Dec statement, no bonus miles shown even though our weekly shop is at Morrisons.

I had the same, so I checked with MBNA and the offer is for 'selected' card holders only. So basically me, had the card since day one, 3/4k+ monthly spend isn't eligible, yet my dad, new customer since September who has used his card a total of 3 times is eligible [:(!][V][:(!]

Randomly, being the one who announced the receipt of said flyer- didn't get any bonus miles either!! [n]
MBNA proving yet again, that VA should get rid!

I just spoke to MBNA - the lady said there is an offer on, and as a black card holder I should be getting 4 for every £1 in Morrisons, and that my missing bonus miles will be credited in January. We shall see...

This spured me on to speak to MBNA - Looked into the account, no mention of any Bonus Miles, young lad wasn't aware of any offer/promotion. However keen to tell me about balance transfers!! [V]

Gave number for FC 'points'?? 0870 161 6059, when tried 'we are Experiencing heavy call demand at present.. etc etc'. got bored, so will try later.

All sounds like a bit of a scam, will be interesting to see if anyone actually gets these extra miles.

Get the impression, easy to pass buck between MBNA & FC and end up with no answer. [V]

Some more supposed clarity on this;

Just spoke again to MBNA, demanding my promotion points-

First comment from MBNA rep, 'this should of only been on the BMI card..' - [:?]

However acknowledged the VS promo;

'Any shopping done within Nov & Dec will receive standard points, as normal.
After dec 31st spend amassed thoughout the promotion period will get the extra points as a job lot, during January & on that statement.'

When asked, they confirmed this was for everyone on it, and not just because I'd rung in..
Seems a bit arse about face, but thats the latest..?

Well my January statement has landed online, and surprise surprise, no extra miles! I'm going to ring MBNA now to chase this up.

Right... spoke to a very helpful lady (PM me if you want her name) and she said the offer did apply to me as a Black VS AMEX holder, and there seems to be an error on their systems that is stopping the transactions being automatically flagged up at 4 miles per £1 earners. She's going to get the Virgin team to update them manually and they'll call me within 5 working days to say it's done. The bonus miles will either go direct to my FC account or on to February's statement.

Sounds like progress.
