I have narrowed down my hotel choices for myself, hubby and two boys (18yrs and 13yrs):

Waldorf Astoria
Westin Times Square
Loews Regency
Ritz Carlton

Which would you choose?

The Ritz Carlton central park is a very nice hotel with an excellent club lounge and chintzy decor but it isn't cheap. When we were there with JP junior we had an avenue of the Americas Suite which with 2 bathrooms and the living room as juniors bedroom worked very well. The standard park view suites are actually a little smaller and only have one bathroom at a significant premium.
The RC downtown at Battery park is a more modernist and stark property quite a bit cheaper they have some good offers at weekends. Its a good hotel not really where I like to be in NYC.
I've just booked a 2 room suite at the Waldorf towers for $890 a night
and as we needed 2 rooms its not bad value.
The other 2 hotels I have no experience of.Have you considered the London Hotel they have a 2 room suite going for about $550 a night a bargain I would have jumped at, had I not needed the spend to renew my Hilton status.

Gill, you probably are already aware of this but I believe that Hilton offer a second room for children aged 18 and under for a 50% discount. This may make the Waldorf much more attractive to you. You have to telephone reservations to make the booking. There is lots of information on the Waldorf in the Hilton Honors section of Flyertalk.
