What can I say.
Just checked in for flight from MEL to HKG and on this route QF have stopped selling first class so business class is upstairs and in the former first class section, PE is in the downstairs former business section and you can work out the rest.
We are flying PE, on sale to boot, and have ended up with business class seats - still get the PE service though. Same on the way back. The check in agent was saying PE is the best value at the moment because of the seat allocation. From MEL only applies on the QF29/30 LHR via HKG.
Thought I would share the news with you in case anyone is tempted.
