Anyone need United Premier Associate status?

A few months ago I reached a threshold where I could nominate someone to this Premier Associate status on United. It now looks like BH will make Premier, so I won't use it there, and everyone I know either travels enough to have some sort of status, or doesn't need it.

It is not, in fact, worth all that much, you get to pick the front of cabin, extra legroom seats (so-called Economy Plus), and use dedicated check in lanes and, at some airports, dedicated security lanes. But in case anyone wants it, drop me a PM with your Mileage Plus number and I will nominate you - first come, first served.

You'd be surprised how hard it is to give these away to folks. Once BH was going to hit Premier, started shopping it around to F&Fs. Have a friend who travels lots (he's a wine rep for chilean wineries), used to do United, switched to NW, I offered it to him just in case, but he declined, since he no longer flies UA since he moved to MSP.

Prem Associate status gets you no extra miles or e500s, so it really is of very minimal value. Pre-reserving E+ is about all it's useful for, frankly - even Seating area 1 boarding has lost much of its currency since UA started boarding all 1Ks and 1Ps before SA1s. There are some funny threads on FT about folks giving it to their mothers-in-law who will not get on a plane for a whole year. I figured I needed to nominate someone before the end of the month, and better to give it to someone who might get a little benefit from it.

If the offer is still current, I would certainly take you up on the offer... which I agree is a generous one!

Last year I didn't fly enough... and lost my status at the end of last month. I have a couple of long-haul flights at the end of the month where this would come in handy!
