Aer Lingus pilots and ground staff recently voted to accept Aer Lingus' restructuring plans but cabin crew did not. Cabin crew now face compulsory redundancy with the option of being re-hired with longer working hours and less pay

Very interesting move by EI. I am guessing that the new crew base at IAD will be operated by US nationals using the new terms of employment that Irish based CC voted against.

Interesting indeed. I still do not really understand where EI is going at the moment. Is it a national carrier or an LCC or some sort of hybrid national carrier? I mean I could just about figure on LGW-ALC for example but IAD-MAD is just plain odd. Yes there may be a demand for it but how many Spaniards are going to fly EI to IAD?
