Some changes following the UA/CO merger

Chicago Tribune Article

They will be enforcing the 'no activity in 18 months' rule too which will come as a shock to ex CO pax

So we can expect no more miles and TP earning on CO from Q1 2012, that's a shame but forecast and inevitable ... unless VS joins *A.

Just to bump this back up.

I've got a flight from EWR - TPA in February which was booked on continental.com as a Continental flight. I'm slightly confused as to whether I'll be earning any VS miles on this trip? Not a big deal but clarification would be useful :-)

Actually it does not address any codeshares that CO has that UA does not so that is still very unclear.
You can still make award bookings using CO miles on VS well into next year but I do feel that once it is integrated into UA you will no longer be able to do that (although they would honour what you have booked).

I would advise anyone plannig to redeem CO miles on VS to make the booking now in case they no longer allow it. You can always cancel and get the miles refunded if you change your mind.
