I have found Vegascrazy's brilliant EK433 report from earlier in the year but was just curious as to whether anyone had done any EK flights in business recently?

My OZ road trip looks like it is happening, mid April. What fun, HWV is about to become a hippy again!!

My plan, reinforced by gingerflyer's TR was Qantas but Emirates is coming in at 25% cheaper. Over £1000 - something of a no-brainer really.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Definitely a no brainer. I did the Oz trip in Emirates business 2 years ago and managed 2 legs in the A380. It was great.
The Emirates business lounges were also very good.

I'd pay more to fly EK than QA. I think the catering and service is better. You also have regional departures (from many countries) and the opportunity to split the journey to combat jetlag.

I would advise to select your seats carefully. On the 777 in business avoid the middle row of 3, getting stuck in the middle of two lie flat sleepers isn't a pleasure. On the 380 pay attention to the stepping of the seats and minibar position. Best place for a sociable couple is the middle pairs, best place for a single is with a minibar in aisle/seat next to window stagger, rather than seat on aisle away from window.

Service on the 380 used to come up for criticism as there are so many passengers but with the new procedures it works pretty well now.
