esta "pending"

hi,i had to reapply for my sons esta as he's got a new passport.i completed the application and received an "pending" notice.has anyone got any experience of this happening?
we are going to miami next week and i'm getting concerned.

ESTA's can take up to 72 hours to be approved however most of the time if you log in a few hours later or the next day, it will be approved by then.

They didn't notify me when it was approved, it was just approved when I next looked...

I have had a pending notice and then it went through so I wouldn't worry yet...

I had the same thing earlier this year. From my recollection there was no notification of approval, as others have said, but when I logged in the next day all was approved.
