Wonder if anyone can answer this query please.

My son wants to fly on VS27 LGW to MCO 15th March 2012.

He registered with Expert Flyer with the idea of looking at the seat availablity map in advance, ie before he hit to book button. This plane is listed as an Airbus A330-300. All the side aisle two seats (Economy) on both sides of the aircraft are 'booked' out.

Do you think this is a realiable reflection of availablity or could it be Expert flyer don't really have the all the correct info on their site?

What experience have other folk had of Expert flyer seats maps?

Thanks.

don't forget about the 40% os seats held back to OLCI which I assume EF shows as blocked / occupied

I am not sure of the validity of looking at seat maps etc when the flight is more than 3 months away and deciding if the flight is going to be 'busy' or not.

I know some here have a different view, but I have changed a seat request on a VS flight and looked at the seat map on EF before and after, and it does reflect the change, so I think it's pretty accurate.

The side pair seats on Airbus's do go before the centre fours.

I would agree. There's been many times when I have changed sets and it's changed in EF after logging back in again

Thanks, that's very helpful to get actual experiences of using Expert Flyer. I think my son will now pay the extra to upgrade to PE on the VS15 instead as there's lot of seats showing free on that one. Obviously realise the seats are only requests but I personally have never been 'bumped' off prior to OLCI.

Wishing you all the very best for 2012 and happy travelling :) Hev.
