Argh I can't stand it anymore... I have to rant on an internet forum.

The Virgin Money advert shows a (toy) Pendolino with the number 399 045 where everybody knows that Pendolinos should have a 390 xxx number (being a British Rail class 390 electric multiple.) Unit 045 is Virgin Valiant / 101 Squadron. I can only imagine this is incase there is an incident involving this unit, so they've used 99 number hinting at a Network Rail departmental unit.

My eagle eyes have as-yet not managed to make out the G-Vxx number on the animated 747, I don't think it has one. I know there are a few livery geeks in here, is it accurate?

HAha. Love it.

That Michael Portillo programme about Britain's railways annoyed me no end, as the aerial shots of the trains were different from the ones he travelled one.

Ban the BBC! (I jest)

have just used my computer to attempt to see which of the fleet that is.

i can't zoom in enough to see clearly but it looks like there is no name on the front and no ID on the top of the tail.

there is however a registration mark in the usual place at the back.

i think it looks like G-VAST (which would make it Ladybird from LGW/MAN) but i can't get a clear enough image to see clearly.

the space craft has an id number N33955 which makes it the VSS Enterprise (according to google)

-that was an evening well spent :|

The most annoying thing about that program was Michael Portillo! Yeah there were a few annoying things like him getting on a red SPT electric then they show an overhead of a blue Scotrail diesel :?. The BBC are known not to be the smartest tools in the box when it comes to transport stories, excusable if it were a drama or sitcom but this was a program about trains, you'd think they'd run it by a trainspotter first!

Chill, it probably is G-VAST in new livery, I downloaded the HD version and zoomed in to the tail (when it appears from the clouds is the best angle) however the number just can't be read. There should also be a white 'ST' (or other two letters) on the tip of the vertical stabiliser but there's nothing there. As the Pendolino above, I think they've deliberately been kept vague in case there is an incident.

Full advert can be found here

Oh this is relativly tame compared to some people I know.

I have some friends who picked apart the Coronation Street Tram crash because it was the wrong tram, in the wrong colour, wrong serial number and the driver was wearing the wrong uniform.

Meanwhile I was just laughing at how bad it was done!
