I'm writing this TR to extol the virtues of Cardiff Wales Airport.
It's 15 years since I last flew from Cardiff and it was one of the best airport experiences I have had in a long time.
We parked at Airparks which only cost £23 for 8 days and we were met by a friendly member of staff who walked us through the check in procedure before boarding the waiting bus to go directly to the Terminal - 5 minutes.
The Service Air staff were super friendly at check in for Air Malta where we paid £9 each way for extra legroom seats (and 3 seats for 2 passengers on A320).
Security was well organised and rapid with almost no queue,
The Executive lounge (via priority pass) was spacious with pleasant staff. It was excellent that the lounge promoted Welsh products such as Penderyn Distilleries Single Malt Wiskey, Vodka, Gin and Cream Liqueur plus Brains Beer and Welsh Cakes.
The flight was on time and everyone we encountered was friendly and courteous.
Baggage reclaim at Malta was super fast and a fixed price taxi (20 euros) whisked us to the Malta Hilton within 30 minutes of landing.
When things go well they usually continue in the same direction and we were upgraded to a corner suite by Hilton. This seems to be a fabulous Hotel.
We hope the return journey goes as well. If so we will look to travel from Cardiff as often as possible in the future.
