Hi everyone,

Looking for some suggestions as to a Christmas holiday, to include xmas day itself.

Have a 11-year-old daughter (she will be then), who loves swimming and visiting points of interest – although, a kids club is really the thing.

Have done Barbados, and loved it, Disney World – not really.

Looking for somewhere with a nice pool, a beach with warm, safe water to swim in, possibly some water sports and a few interesting places to visit nearby. Good food, easy lifestyle.

Have thought about – Mauritius, CapeTown, Canares, Scicily….and am really not sure.

Cost is an issue (so, a little nervous of Mauritius), and weather – ideally would love 25-30 deg C. Other points in the Carribean are possible, but get the feeling it’s hard to beat Barbados.

Any ideas or suggested locales would be much appreciated.

The Hilton Resort & Spa at Ras Al Khaimah. Great beach lots of swimming pools. The food is very good. Day trips to Dubai and Oman. Book through Virgin Holidays, they have the monopoly on the place. I just checked the price it's coming out at £4606 for 2 adults & 1 child, for 9 nights over Xmas And New Year's Eve departing on 22nd December, that is all inclusive, fligthts and transfers.

PS Virgin's sale ends tomorrrow it might be dearer after.

Some great suggestions so far - thank you very much.

I should probably say that I'm not overly keen on the whole Dubai and neibouring areas...

Langkawi looks really intersting - also, Turks and ...

Keep 'em coming guys, the travel experience present on this forum must be able to come up with some more ideas!
