Just a reminder, or a heads up for those not aware, that Airport Live is on BBC 2 at 8pm Monday through Thursday next week from Heathrow.

Looks very good for those of us who are interested in all things airport and aviation.

Am afraid I've given up on this already.

Not helped by Kate 'arms waving uncontrollably' Humble. v( v(

What could have been an interesting programme ruined by banal comments and questions.

Bear in mind it's aimed at the "ordinary" viewer who won't have the interest and expertise in aviation many V-Flyers do.

It's general entertainment, not a specialist programme for aviation experts. And in fairness to Kate Humble, she did make it clear she was drafted in at the last minute.

Tonty's I totally agree, it's shit. Erm, so what do you service an engine with, err oil. Oh I never knew water came out of a plane.

The prefilmed parts are interesting, the live part is pants.

Or even better "what's your worse case scenario?" To man in control tower, "a crash" ... Well it wasn't going to be running out of loo paper was it!!!

It was pretty much what I expected, some interesting bits some not so interesting bits. I don't think it helped having the anchor change late on.

Perfect viewing for multi tasking, ie eating dinner on tray, talking on phone reading newspaper etc!
Have set my Sky box for the rest of the week so I can fast forward the dull bits. :(

It seems that they attempted to demonstrate the bustling of Heathrow by hosting a dynamic live show where they repeatedly say the word busy to show busy it is. It showed nothing new, the presenters didn't know much about aviation and asked the wrong questions. It was like a really poor One Show.

The only good thing I thought was due to their location above T3 you saw hardly any BA planes and Virgin appeared to be the dominant airline at Heathrow! For Joe Public esp from outside of London I think they might actually be surprised how big the airline is.
