Malaysia’s flag carrier plans to reserve the upper economy deck on its new A380 service for adults only. http://travel.cnn.com/explorations/life/malaysia-airlines-launches-child-free-economy-zone-875833

I'm travelling with Malaysia on the A380 in Febuary in business to KUL, I will take a walk to economy to see how this is working.

Hi Daffodil,

Off topic a bit, I was just looking that you were travelling Business on Malaysian in February and as I am in the very early stages of thinking about a trip to Nz.

Would you let us know how it all went on your return as they are certainly coming out the cheapest of all the carriers. It will take some doing for me to convince my OH, a trip of this magnitude is duable. Many thanks. Linda

Hi Linda
The business class fares were excellent under £2,000 each for our flights, we are also flying on to Phuket and back from Bangkok for this price. I will of course let you know how it went on our return.
Regards
Marie

Again slighlty off topic...

FYI did MH MEL-KUL-LHR and return in J back in Feb/Mar with MH. Did not see any children on the upper deck on those flights.

MEL-KUL-LHR service was terrible, the product is fine to be fair, staff were just not interested or incompetent (may be both).

Lounge in KUL has gone downhill and is tired and dirty (particularly the shower area).

LHR-KUL-MEL service was fantastic.

It just goes to show the impact the crew can have.

I wrote and gave my feedback to MH and got a thanks we'll pass your feedback on to Management. There is a reason why they are cheaper than everyone else at the moment!

That said the A380 product is superb, we were in the main J cabin which IMO is too big. Try and get in the smaller front J cabin which only has 3 rows I think. Even as OW Emerald we didn't manage to get seats in there - seems to be reserved for MH Enrich pax.

Thank you for the information RobL. We currently have seats in 7A&C in the smaller cabin for both out and inbound flights booked through Amex. I just hope they are not changed before we fly.

That article was from April 2012 and admittedly it was a cursory glance, but I can't see if it was implemented or not.

Oops! I didn't notice the date. I received the link via Twitter on Tuesday so presumed it was current. I will check if it as been implemented and will report back.
