I am off to Seattle next month, business class with Delta. It looks like that also gains me access into the clubhouse which is always a pleasurable way to start a trip - but does anyone have experience of flying with Delta?

I have always heard that US airlines are not a patch on Virgin, but be good hear opinions.

Cheers y)

Hi CC, I've flown a couple of times in Delta's Economy Comfort seats & that was thoroughly average with cabin crew that didn't care one bit, really poor service.

I've flown business class on the 767s in the lie flat beds which were in a 1-2-1 configuration. They were a bit weird as your feet disappear into a tunnel which is in fact the person in fronts armrest/table. It sort of feels like your lying in a CT scanner (if you've ever had the misfortune to receive one). The service was good but not up to VA standards.

The lounges are OK but again nowhere near as good as VA.

Enjoy the experience & don't forget the trip report!

My fiancée and I almost literally just got done with a R/T with Delta in J. While domestic first class can't shake a stick at international, even on legacy US carriers, we found the overall experience to be more than pleasant, and better than United (who I've flown domestically for years).

Checkin is swift, priority security is usually much better than not and on our final return leg our bags were the 3rd off the plane - we were out of PHL in less than 30, which from my experience is incredible.

The crew, as others have noted, is way more hit or miss than VS, and the SkyLounges even more so, and none can compare with LHR.

I've never flown their lie-flat service, but as an overall Airline, I'd rate them near the top of the US legacy carriers.
