Could I have some of your feedback on A.C (London - Toronto)

I have used the search button and have found a couple of trip reports, both here and on the net. None of them really inspire me to go ahead and make a booking.

So is it really that bad or does the cost of an upgrade through Virgin Holidays which seems remarkably reasonable at £560 each way make up for this? The food does look nice ! Are the seats pants? Different types of different planes?

Reading some trip reports ect it leaves me with a feeling that I might be left bitterly disappointed with an upgrade to Executive First. I have been Upper before but know that I can't compare the two products.

I understand that my best bet is to try and get on an A330-300 as the B767-300 is fairly inferior. Does anyone know if Virgin Holidays will let me chose a flight time in order that I have a better chance of getting on the A330-300? I have taken a look at Expedia to see which types of plane are flying (but I’m really not sure if this is a reliable method)

Thinking of the times you have flown Executive First before and assuming that you would go again would you be happy paying £1120 return or maybe just one way?

Cheers

Hi Alan,

I fly with them in Exec. F a lot. I can give you a load of feedback a bit later (when I have a bit more time), but essentially:

Not BAD service/flights, but certainly not great. Nowhere near the standard of BA/VS, but close to UA.
There is a BIG difference between the IFE on a 763 and A330 - the 763's useless, while the A330 has AVOD.
If it were MY money, no I wouldn't spend it. Their economy product is 34" legroom throughout.
Have a look to see if there are any "Club Class" flights available. This gets you a north-american First-class style seat, but with economy service. The legroom also varies based on 767-200/300 in use, however.
Although the quality of food in Exec. First is good - BE WARNED : It takes them literally 2 hours to serve it. (They also have a habit of waking you 2 hours before landing, on the way home. You get about 2.5 hours sleep max and they're not quiet serving dinner either, if you think you'll sleep while others are eating [V])
