I hate to say this, (both as a frequent VS flyer and as a *G, so this will affect me negatively) but it's about time someone took BA & VS on:

United Vacations (equivalent of Virgin Holidays for UA) have now started selling Economy Plus with their packages for a VERY small upgrade charge:

Relax with United Economy Plus ®
Enjoy an extra 5" of leg room on United Airlines transatlantic and US domestic flights, equivalent to 36” distance between you and the seat in front.
Supplements:
Transatlantic flights £65 one way
US domestic flights £20 one way

Now, you miss the Champagne (wow...[:p]) and there's no upper deck, but if you compare a PE return supplement with VS to San Francisco at around £600, the £130 UA are charging seems like one heck of a bargain...

Like I say - it's about time there was some competition for this psuedo-class of service. [y]

Having a look at the UA site, they have a much better booking system too. You can select seats before you pay, select the type of ticket you need if you want to upgrade, etc. If only other sites had these options! ;)
