Going through some old books and came across one I must have read in April 1998 on the way to Miami ... last time I flew BA transatlantic ... and found a BA lunch menu; choice was:

Smoked salmon and spinach terrine, followed by

Braised beef in ale with horseradish and chive mash and seasonal vegetables or
Oriental cod accompanied by chow fan rice and wilted spinach

Apple and cranbury crumble with anlgaise sauce

You guessed it was economy from the choice, but not a bad menu for World Traveller. Full afternoon tea searved too, with scones and clotted cream!

tell me about it

you used to get smoked salmon and scones etc
even on 1 hour shuttle routes to LHR.

those were the days

maybe they will start selling that soon on board
as as a "reminiscement" package
