Check if it is showing on the Fox Sports Soccer Channel.

If it is, you will find a list of New York bars that show that channel here.

If not, I am sure some NYC channel will carry it... as they say ' check your local listings for details...' ;)[8D]

Thanks for the link Nick. The Kinsale Tavern looks like the one for me (assuming they show the match). Many a good pint - or 7 - of the black stuff consumed in that fair Irish town.

Alan - there's really three of us? There weren't too many more showing up at Elland Road at the start of the season...

Haven't let Mrs. mdvipond know about the possibility of watching the match yet. Gosh, will she be pleased? [:(!] (answers on the back of a stamped addressed envelope).

That was down to our friend Mr Bates and his ticket pricing structure, Season tix have shot up in price, however when we we go to away games, we still give those teams their biggest gate for the season.

McCuth is only jealous, its hard for him in lowly 12th place of the second div, err sorry new first division, to only dream of the history and quality of Super Leeds, powering back to the Premiership. You have to excuse his ramblings about some team, from a backwater, where even the local airport knows which City comes first [:o)][:o)]

It's not looking good, unless they slot it in because it's a replay it doesn't looked like they plan on showing it [:(]

I checked on Setanta Sports USA and it's not listed there.

I've listened to it before on my laptop so it looks like that might be your only option :-(

Thanks Shaz [n]. Not looking too good is it?

Never realised Mcuth was a Bradford supporter. Good for you, I say. Must really put things in context knowing that Yeovil Town are above you in the league...

I don't know who this McCuth is that you keep talking about - although the family name goes waaaay back to some place in the highlands, I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, Scottish ;)

That would be Bradford City - Bradford play in the Unibond League, you might also know them as Bradford Park Avenue ;) Anyway, can't say it worries me too much to be honest - been used to it for the last 20 years (apart from a brief delusion of grandeur in the 99/00 & 00/01 seasons :D) - much more interested in seeing the club survive :)

Ah MC,
Kudos to you for being a real supporter, not one of the "who's at the top this year" fans of some teams over the pennines and "darrn saarf" [y]

I was looking at the games played between Super LEEDS and the suburbs of Leeds called Bradford City :-)

13/05/2001 LEEDS 6- Bradford City 1 Premier League
29/10/2000 Bradford C 1 LEEDS 1 Prem League
12/03/2000 Bradford C 1 LEEDS 2 Prem league
20/11/1999 LEEDS 2 Bradford C 1 Prem league
08/04/1990 LEEDS 1 Bradford C 1 Div 2
28/10/1989 Bradford c 0- LEEDS 1 Div 2
01/03/1989 LEEDS 3 Bradford C 3 Div 2
26/10/1988 Bradford c 1- LEEDS 1 Div 2
01/01/1988 LEEDS 2-Bradford c 0 Div 2
29/8/1987 Bradford c 0-LEEDS 0 Div 2
25/02/1987 LEEDS 1 Bradford C 0 Div 2
20/09/1986 Bradford c 2- LEEDS 0 Div 2 (last game between the two side at old odsall stadium)
09/04/1986 Bradford C 0- LEEDS 1 Div 2
21/09/1985 LEEDS 2- Brdaford 0 Div 2
Then a huge gap to:

30/12/1944 Bradford 6- LEEDS 2 Football League Northern section
26/12/1944 LEEDS 9- Bradford 1 North sec.
11/11/1944 LEEDS 2 Bradford 0 North esc.
04/11/1944 Bradford 2 LEEDS 6 North sec
I'll stop there :-)

It seems we play better at home against you than away.
Total games home and away:
Played 38 games
LEEDS won 20
Drawn 10
Bradford scraped a win ([:o)] ) in 8 (3 at LEEDS, 5 at Bradford)
Goals for lEEDS 82
Goals for Bradford 57

So We Are the Champions, Champions of Europe and Yorkshire!
:D

there are some very famous players who have played for both teams:-
Jack Milburn
Paul Reaney
Mick Bates
David Harvey
Trevor Cherry
Terry Yorath
Chris Kamara (he of Soccer AM)
Gunnar Halle
Dave Wetherall
Lee Sharpe
Robert Molenar
Robbie Blake
Andy Gray
Steve Caldwell
Harpal Singh

Thanks for being a feeder club [y]

Typo noted and corrected. Although, looking back at the misspelling it presents itself not so much overtly Scots, more like an exciting new product from a well known burger vendor... ;)

I gotta say well done & give you a massive round of applause for copying the details from this page ;):D Wasn't really going down the competitive route (we all know the history shows your lot have been more successful than mine)....

(last game between the two side at old odsall stadium)

Last 1 of only 2 games between the clubs played at the temporary home called Odsal (home of the current SuperLeague champions, the Bradford Bulls - oh, they beat a little team called Rhinos in the Grand Final didn't they? ;))

So We Are the Champions, Champions of Europe and Yorkshire!
:D

There might be a little club that plays at Anfield that might disagree with part of that statement ;)

Jack Milburn

Hardly "Wor Jackie" (though related);)

Thanks for being a feeder club [y]

Hmmm, not quite Alan ;) From your selection, there's only 2 that played for us before going East of Pudsey:
Robbie Blake (from us to Burnley, then to Brum, then you)
Steve Caldwell (9 appearances for us while on loan from NUFC)

In fact, from the total list of 43 "common" players on that site, there's only 8 players that played for us first. So, maybe we should thank you for being a feeder club? ;) Or on the other hand - I don't think so....in my memory, there's been very few decent players (Yorath, Cherry, Weatherall, Halle, Noel Blake, Molenaar, Andy Gray) amongst the other bags of **** we got from your lot ;)

That's a problem we all suffer from i think when you live away from your home city/football club.

I did not want you to hurt yourself trawling through the many web sites on the Leeds ring and getting downhearted MC

Yes, I had forgotton about that sad time in Bradfords history. when our stand burnt down, we were very lucky that i8t happened at night. I can just about remember the TV pictures of the Bradford stand and how quickly it spread. Terrible. :-(

Don't the bulls and the rhinos play with a non round ball? its not really a game that is it? [:o)][:o)]

It wasn't when I first moved down South and had a company car (& fuel card) - was still a season ticket holder for those first 3 years :D

Funnily enough, it was the first one I visited from Google, and it was structured well enough that I could bypass the usual hyperbole :D

Forgiving your typos & appreciating the sentiment, but accuracy please: it was a Saturday afternoon in the blazing sun of May, last home game of the 84/85 season (11/05/85), D3 (old) championship trophy being paraded before kick off - match abandoned 3 mins before half time - 56 dead (RIP - never forgotten), ~265 injured [:(][:(] Awful day - still can't quite believe it was 21 years ago this May

They play with an odd shaped ball, that's correct - but it's a game alright - ever tried playing it? ;)

Probably because they don't need to keep reminding themselves ;):D

Yes, same for me, Bates has pushed to cost of a season ticket through the roof and I could not justify to the wife £1,000 for two tickets, plus petrol, plus hotel, plus car parking, plus everything else..

I think you m8isunderstood my comment. When Leeds stand burnt down it was in the middle of the night, I was not saying bradfords was at night as I can clearly remember watching the drama unfold on the TV.
Wasn't the firs fueled by a lot of rubbish laying under the stand and did this not pave the way for stronger fire controls on stadium as I recall?

Don't the bulls and the rhinos play with a non round ball? its not really a game that is it? [:o)][:o)]

Yep. Was a tight head prop at school and for local team untill I chipped my shoulder. Was very good in the lineout as well.

Well, post-loss-of-company-car, the season ticket price isn't really the problem - it's the petrol, food & beer :D

I think you m8isunderstood my comment. When Leeds stand burnt down it was in the middle of the night, I was not saying bradfords was at night as I can clearly remember watching the drama unfold on the TV.

Sorry Alan, I was reading it in the context of what we were talking about, so assumed you meant "your" not "our" [:I] Had completely forgotten about the fire at your ground ('56 wasnt' it?)

Wasn't the firs fueled by a lot of rubbish laying under the stand and did this not pave the way for stronger fire controls on stadium as I recall?

Well the cause is generally though to be a stray cigarette butt, discarded in a plastic cup, which ignited rubbish that had piled up underneath the stand. It was the Popplewell Report published after the inquiry that recommended a whole set of safety (not just fire control) improvements - this is probably the best summary I've seen.

Yep. Was a tight head prop at school and for local team untill I chipped my shoulder. Was very good in the lineout as well.

Ah right, so you'll know that it's not a bad game then? ;)

Its all we have at the moment, that and inconsistancy (see yesterdays game) [:p]

LOL - yeah, I saw that result ;) Similar sort of of thing happening down at Valley Parade these days and home form is appalling [:(]
