Well as I've not posted for ever[:0] and as this was a reward trip I thought a TR was in order!

Virgin were offering 50% discount on the amount of miles needed so I thought why not![y]

so for 22,500 miles and about 130 a return to Newark seemed good value.

the VS1 is quite a late flight (16:00) so I aimed to get to LHR for noon so that I'd have enough time for RnR and food!

Check in was a breeze I used UC (with my AU card) I prefer this to online check in as a disabled person I like to know that my seat is a bulkhead isle etc.

One odd thing was that I didn't get a fast track sticker on my BC so I queried this and was told that I just need to flash my FF card and I'll be let through as I'm gold - ok I thought

So I proceeded through security via fast track and the lady said I needed a sticker! - she wasn't busy and let me through anyway!

I tried to register for the iris recognition thing (its just past security on the right) but they don't work well with wheelchairs (something to do with the height of my eyes\the machine height - I tried for 30 mins but it wouldn't play so no iris recognition for me!

The lounge was excellent as always I had a drink first followed by duck on a bed of mash (yummy) and a summer pudding for desert (nice)

several glasses of champers later I went for my prebooked treatment (shave/massage) this was great really relaxing - I noticed all the treatment names have changed - but the service is good as ever[8D]

I had less than an hr to go - so got my shoes done and chilled.
I spoke to one couple (flying to Boston) who had never been in before despite flying vs annually, (they were centurion holders) but had never used the CH before - they were amazed it was all free![:)]

The flight was a bit delayed so I boarded at 15:30.
(I think V-BIG Tinker Belle)
Once onboard (30D) I settled and waited ages to depart, but was air bourn by 16:45
The flight itself was uneventful watched 300 and the number 23 both good
Had an OK chicken Tika for Lunch and a few soft drinks
I didnt get any AU perks..(a hello etc) VS need to be more consistant with this as last time I got champaine!

I got a few hours sleep as had a 4hr drive upon arrival.

That's it - all in all a good Y flight for 130 quid!
