VS250 LHR-PVG 23 Sep 06 (Upper)

Headed to Heathrow via Dublin with my co worker on the 23rd with BMI. We had decided to get an earlier flight to ensure our bags arrived in London with plently of time to transfer. Very surpised with BMI and probably one of the better short haul flights I have been on for a while - Anyway we transfered to T4 and headed to the Clubhouse - Well I was shocked - its amazing [y] - so big, so plush yet laid back [y]. I loved it . We headed straight to have our booked shave and facial ( dont tell everyone) - it was great - others should look at what Virgin do here - its really really superb - and then headed to the duty free to grab some bits and pieces.On returning to the Clubhouse we sat down and had the clubburger on the advise of VS and what a choice - delicious. Followed by some fine wine and a few beews at the bar - We didnt want to leave at all. Its like a holiday resort.
The the call came for boarding -

Boarding was quick and only a short walk from the Clubhouse. Once on board I headed to my seat (10a) and my collegue in 9a. First impressions was top class but when looking at it a little closer its really time they upgraded as they seat showed a lot of wear and tear . Anyway they are still very comfortable. Had a glass of champers and looked through the menu and what movies I would watch - The menu was not great to be honest. In fact I was glad I had the meal in the Clubhouse as it was not good at all compared with my last BA CLUB experience , once again choice a little small but I decided to go for the chicken stir-fry - out of 10 i would give it 4. [;)]. Desert was great and the sevice was 10/10 .

I really hope the revisit the menu and get the high standard back.


Time to watch a movie or 2 . I have to say their VOD system is amazing - Both VS and SIA have the best in the air.


Once the movies were finished we decided to head to the bar to see what was happening - we met some guys from Ireland and you can guess what happened next - [:o)]- free bar with 5 Irish guys around it - we nearly had a sing song - but decided maybe not the place -

After having a good few drinks we decided to get some sleep ( we got about 5 hrs). One thing I would like to point out is the matress needs something to stop it slidding out from under the person sleeping on it. I f you turn at all it seems to move - there maybe somethig they could put on the underside to stop this - I remember SIA first had so and it was perfect - the matress could also be a little thicker to make it perfect. The sleeper suits are great.


And then woke to the smell of the famous hot bacon roll - It was delicious as was the strong mug of coffee [y] . They are great abd perfect to get you going. Having said that I was still hungry and dodnt ask for another one , is it ok to ask?


Shanghai international airport is awfull - So slow but eventually got through emigration. Its a dump.

Our bags through quickly and then the limo to the Hyatt [y].

Overall Virgin were superb and I will be using them without doubt the next time -But why dont they go to BKK and Singapore as I could use them for all my flights to Asia.[i]

Oh forgot to mention - The Amenity Kits [:$] - Its a complete joke for the prices the charge - [V]Disgraceful[V] -
