The day finally arrived, I thought that I could stay at home or get to the airport REALLY early?!? [:?] Well I got an Addison Lee to the airport, arrived at approx 1400 and the Y and PE line were HIDDEOUS! they were so long they were backming in to American Airlines, gladly the UC check in was empty and strolled straight up and was done in less than 2 mins by a very friendly chap, who asked me if I knew where the CH was, which I smiled and said yes.

Security was the worse I have ever seen it and couldnt find the end of it, so had to cut across the line, well you can imagine the tuts and stares I got, however there was a BAA offical who opened the barriers for me.[y][y] I got through security in 10 mins, so I was very pleased that I was done in around 15mins! [^][^]

Arrived at the CH and it was very busy found a seat and had a glass of champers. Settled to my marathon stay at the lounge [}:)] had a few drinks, then it was time for my Rhinestone cowboy, god did I feel better after that, went to the Deli Bar for a quick check on the laptops and of course V-Flyer! [y] Had the CH Burger, which was lovely. I saw Natalie Imbruglia she was off to L.A with her big Jackie O glasses on, (didn't look that good either) I recieved a call from my BF to say that he had check in and was going through security, so met him there so we could get our iris scanning thingo done. Did that and it was back to the lounge, we sat at the bar, for a 'FEW' drinks!! [}:)][}:)] Maria (received permission to use her name) was GREAT [oo][oo][^][^] she made us some Lychee Martini's she even got her cocktail book to see if there was anything we looked the like of. She really made our stay there great, even though I was a little tipsy so say the least by the time the flight was called.

We headed to the gate, no priority boarding there was a huge line outside the gate, so I walked to the front and asked if there was priority boarding and the gate security allowed us through and we were on board within 5 mins.

We were greeted and given the some champers (oh god not more!) and settled in to the lovely comfortable suite. We were on Soul Sister and the UC cabin was full on this flight, not too sure about PE and Y however it didn't have the new PE seats. After a while getting everyone on board, we soon pushed backed and there was quite a few planes ahead of us, we took off. The service started rather quickly and had a G&T and ordered my dinner. I had both starters however I can not remember what they were! [:?] (FUNNY THAT!) I had the lamb for dinner which was nice. The FSM came around and introduced himself along with the 'extras' you get with the scrooge pack, I asked hime when they were getting rid of them, he said Jan 07, I said how pleased I was, I mentioned V-Flyer and said that it has been a hot topic, he then went on to say that VS thought that most UC pax leave their amenity pack on the the seat and it was a saving money and waste of things, I said that when you are paying premium money it is our choice to take them or not and you need to give you pax more than a cardboard packet, I think he just agreed to shut me up!! [}:)] Then I kind of slipped in to unconciousness!!! Until I was woked up by the start of breakfast being served, I had sausage in a roll and some STRONG coffee! We then started our descent in to DXB, it was rather cloudy and couldn't see too much!

We arrived at our remote stand and the FA's made sure all UC pax got off first, on to the buses to the terminal building, once there I was met my a Burj Al Arab guy, who showed us through fast track immigration, then to get our bags, it felt like an AGE for them to come out, or was it me feeling a little 'tired and emmotional' and off to the transfer which turned our to be a Rolls Royce with our driver all in white, was given cold towels (god they felt good!) and some water. The traffic was a nightmare and our driver asked if we wanted more water I said yes, however he didn't have any in the front, so pulled over on the freeway and got me some more out of the boot!!! how nice! [y] We arrived at the iconic Burj and had a welcoming commitee with more cold towels and dates. We were then walked to our Suite where we both were blown away on how lovely it was, our butler showed us everything in the suite 30mins later we were left alone. Now we are smelling lovely with Hermes and all the lovely products they give you.

God I do go on, sorry if any of you lost the will to live after this TR!!! I would of done it in the Burj but couldn't work the computer, it may have done something with my hangover! [;)]

Return to follow!

Thanks for the TR[y]

I hope you had a good time in Dubai - BTW, I would have thought that it was haze, not cloud that was blocking your view[;)]

LHR certainly sounded very busy; I've never seen the lines that long before[:0]
