We stayed at the Hilton the night before..exec room as usual very nice. checked in online at South Mimms as I usually do on the drive down to Gatwick, seats as requested still ( i moved them from 6a/k to 7a/8a just in case I got a repeat of my MCO experience )
Check in the next day at the UCS desk, very very nice older lady who chatted and was very pleasant, I asked about priority lines at security and she told me it had gone and wished me luck. It took about 20mins not too bad.
Straight to UCS lounge and I could finally relax, there was a 30 min delay but I didn''t care. I couldn't believe the smoking area was still there and was pleased. The staff in there could not do enough, my hair was cut, gucci's polished and I had a lovely meal.
The front desk booked me in to a revivals lounge for my return.
GUESS WHATGUYS N GALLS after all my questions about them on here I finally took the plunge and am now in the Bose QC3 club[:o)], dissaponted to find I needed to charge them up first but have done so in my room they are awsome, thanks for all the tips guys.
I decided not to wait untill the front desk annouced the flight, this was a wise move as there was a huge single line queue down to gate 17, the waiting area was not big enough for everyone so thy were checking people through in small groups. I noticed it was Barbarella and breathed a sigh of relief it wasn't grubby old Jersey girl with its 50% faulty suites. Once we got to the plane they let us straight on board.
The suite had crumbs all over it and was very grubby but what joynot to find the dreaded cable ties on the seatbelt this time and everything functioned. If anything on this flight the crew were more attentive to me than ever before, at least 4 times an hour I was asked if I needed anything, this semed to be just me.
The food was perfect, the drinks everything really, I was getting hacked off by the PE cabin hogging the toilets to the point of blocking the door so they could usher everyone else in before us, whilst throwing us mucky looks...guys if you want to fly Upper pay for it and stop glaring at us, talk about reverse snobbery.
Four people came in 3 adults and one five year old child, they had upgraded with cash I think, the father looked familiar like a sportsman but I was too shy to ask. I thought oh dear when I saw the little boy arrive with his bag of toys, but as it happened he was really cute and well behaved, chatted to everyone and charmed every crew member, he managed to work out the suite and remote for the tv well before most adults. He decided the bed needed putting down in order to play with his car...smart boy. He was so good and accepted I have decided that I will fly Upper to MCO with my 8 year old nephew next Nov.
My pre order duty free arrived, a huge bottle of moet in a ltd edition crystalised bottle, which I had to open to show the crew, they hadn't seen one yet.
Though I give VA customer services no points for my last UCS flight, this one I give 10/10 for a real upper class experience.
To anyone thats interested the Celine concert was awsome on the front row centre stage and she actually spoke to him indoors.
