You are quite correct, in fact it was the very next day (23 March) on the very same aircraft.

I am glad that Mrs Buns & I did not have to endure the sight of extensive upgrades and have our allocated seats moved to boot.

Well, even if the computer resets everyone's pre-allocated assignments, it wouldn't have automatically put PE customers in Upper - that would have had to been an active decision to upgrade certain customers. All it would have taken is a quick-witted dispatcher to keep the original J passengers in the A section and inform the flight crew appropriately.

Very true. Hardly rocket science, given that is what used to happen all the time on the LGW fleet before the wise decision to reduce the number of UC seats down to 14. Zone A got proper UC service and Zone B got PE service albeit in a UC seat.

Thanks,
Richard

A lot of the comments do make common sense when you think about it,i.e keeping the original 14UC in the same seats as allocated. I am fairly sure that UC meals were given to all the PAX in the UC cabin as I made several journeys with Daniel up and down the a/c and I did not notice a difference. I did have an early peek in PE to see if they had the new seats, which it did not, and these PAX had there meal before us, I do remember that.
The upstairs cabin as you know on the LHR fleet is also a mix of UC and PE and was a haven of peace and quiet.

As I had the family and was on my jollies I really did not see the point of complaining to anyone as the issues were more to do with the check-in, pre flight boarding and poor IFT which again if it had been super nova which I was expecting anyway, it would have been fine, but to have nothing for a long while then some rubbish shown was dissapointing on such a long flight.

As mentioned before the crew were very good and I think they did a good job considering the changes they had.

To echo some of the above - don't make it shorter what you say and report on is tip top and very useful for future reference.[y]

I hope VS are going to sort you out with some miles - whilst this doesnt minimalise the nonsense that went on I think it's the least they can do?[:(!]
