After being in London for 2.5 days it was time for me to be off to NBO for 3 days, this is a work trip with some colleagues and clients coming along. I went to work with my luggage, and we had planned to leave the office at 1500, and meeting our clients at LHR by the VS ticket counter, and our Manchester colleagues would meet us there too, after their BD flight from MAN. We arrived in good time, and at the VS ticket desk at 1600, after all of our clients arrived, we checked in at the self service check in, and then proceeded to the fast bag, this went with out any hitches, and all of our boarding passes were issued, we headed to fast track, where there was only one scanner working, this seems to be the normal practise at the moment, however it didnt take long around 10mins, we headed to passport control, and was hoping that we could miss the shoe scanner! (no such luck!) It didnt take long, and we were soon off to the sanctuary of the CH, the CH was fairly quiet, and we all sat in the sky lounge, just to run through the itinerary for the next few days. I then headed to the bar, and sat and had a chat at the bar, and enjoyed a few G&Ts , I needed to get some USD, and some booze for the room! or tent I should say! [:w]

Boarding was delayed slightly, but we made it to the gate, and everyone seemed to be on board, so there was no delay. I was sat in 8K, and as this was an A340-300, I was opposite the bar, which I didnt overly mind! The FA came around and offered Champers which I gratefully took, and she offered me a sleep suit. Then I noticed the other FA who was on my LHR-HKG, she screamed and ran and hugged me, it was so good to see her again, as she really was a star on my last flight, you can really see that she enjoys her job, and is very good at it. UC was very empty, we were a group of 13, and there were only 4 other seats filled, so it was very quiet, and it had a nice party atmosphere, and even better that my aussie FA was on board, as she really looked after us all! [oo][^][oo]

I am really sorry, as I didnt get the name of the aircraft we were on, but it didnt have V-Port, and there were no movies I wanted to see, so once in the air, the FAs took our dinner orders. I wont go through the menu, as Decker has already done that, and we had the same. I had the prawns and salad, which was very yummy, and then I had the lamb, which too was very nice! I skipped the cheese course in favour for the Bakewell Tart! That was very nice! I had dinner with one of my colleagues and this was the first time I have eaten on the ottoman, it is very cramped and I kept touching the bed function, and the seat kept moving up! It was very comical, but probably wouldnt do it again! (my legs are too long too!)

After dinner a few of us headed to the bar as it was empty, and had a few drinks with the staff, and I was talking about V-Flyer, and one of my FA said they had heard about it, and had one of the Mods on their flight to SHA they said they werent too sure of his name or the route! (Doesnt help much eh!) So we had a really good chat with the crew, and especially my favourite Aussie FA. We were chatting to another passenger who said that he would never fly VS ever again, so I questioned him why, and I did my sales pitch selling VS! I really should work for them! I understand what he was saying, regarding the food and service, as it can be hit and miss at times, but this flight was amazing, and I really enjoyed the food. He liked the BA bed! YUK! I said it was like a coffin! He thought he was right, and I thought I was right (I was right!) He was a bit of a tool really we were talking about Safaris etc. and I explained that I went to a really nice private game reserve in SA, and he just questioned everything, I said that I have had enough talking to you, and went for my treatment!

I had the arm and hand reflexology treatment, one of my favourite and the IFBT was just fab, we had a good chat, and I was telling her about the pompous guy at the bar, and she said that he had been rather rude to the crew! Thank god it wasnt just me that didnt like him! After my lovely treatment, I thought it was best to try and get some shut eye, as we had a very long drive to the Masai Mara once we landed, so I made the bed, and got some sleep!

I woke up to the smell of breakfast, and I had pre ordered the sausage in a roll, and some juice! I couldnt believe the flight was over, and wished we had a few hours more, but alas no. We were soon on our descent in to NBO it was still dark, so we couldnt really see anything out of the windows.

Once we arrived at the stand, UC were first off and they held the few W/Y pax, I hugged and kissed my FA and thanked them all for such a great flight! I was so happy to be flying with the Aussie FA, as she really looked after us, and not only just me but the whole cabin, she is truly an asset to VS. Once we had disembarked the aircraft there was no one at immigration and was through in 5 mins, then the wait begun for the baggage, we had to wait for about 40mins for our bags! So priority baggage didnt work, but again you have to think this is Africa, they work on a different time here!

Well after an amazing flight it was off to the Stanley for a freshen up, then the mammoth journey, next time I am flying! [:?]

Thanks for all your lovely TRs Dominic, I really enjoyed reading them[:D]
It was good to read about your enthusiasm for the food served to you on your various flights, hopefully this means that the standard is starting to improve?

Given all the flights that you have taken recently you must surely be on your way to the coveted Au card?[8D]
