I hope this does not bore too many of you but here goes - After a very unevenful BA flight from Dublin to LGW and a night in the Hilton we booked in for our flight to MCO. It was a little slow but this was mainly due to a large party booking in also heading to what looked like a stag in Vegas. As we received our tickets we were in formed there was a delay of approx 31/2hrs due to a late incoming flight[n]. Well that went down well with the kids but hey we had the Clubhouse to go to. Through security in 10 mins due to priority pass and straight to the clubhouse. I have to say its very nice (*nothing like Heathrow) but still rather smart. After a very nice breakfast Mrs Porsche went and had her nails done while the girls played with the playstations etc. My turn next to have a shave - It was great , in fact far better than my last two in Heathrow. After the long delay we made our way to the gate and boarded. Now I have to say this was definite one of the 'more used' 747s and it looked like it did need a good make over to be honest. Usual champers etc and then ordered the food. Tomato soup to start followed by lamb - it was fantastic. My first time to use the older IFE but found it ok with plenty to watch. Usual bacon butty prior to landing and quickly off the plane on onwards to the Ritz Carlton (what a hotel). Overall a very good flight but again this aircraft really does need a face lift (like myself to be honest)-

Return via Barbados - After AA cancelling our transit flights from Orlando we finally got to Barbados and had a fantastic holiday. I will say it again - never again with AA - they are awful. Anyway, the new business lounge in Barbados is quite nice and the great thing is no 3hr prior check in here , just 90 mins did it.
While getting on the 747 i noticed it said born in Dec 2001 or 2002 so this one looked much newer (sorry I cannot remember the name of the plane) and as soon as we got on my daughter shouted 'V-PORT' , well we were delighted. This aircraft was in great shape and much better layout with the bar further down the aircraft. Usual again champers and the FAs were fantastic with the kids and of course our selves. There was a 'grumpy old witch' is the only was to describe her sitting opposite us complaining to here husband ' BA is much nicer , the colours are awful , the menu is crap etc etc'. I felt like telling her on behalf of the crew if to get off and swim home but in fairness to the crew they did their best to keep her happy , but no chance of that - some people eh. Now next was the food on the return flight , soup again , superb , but I ordered pork for main and I have to say the only suitable place for this was the bin. It was awfull. oK I though to myself maybe its just mine but my kids had the same and my 12 year old said she could not even cut same. The FA noticed this and gave them extra ice cream so 10/10 for looking after them. V-PORT was once agaIn brilliant and after 4 hrs sleep had breakfast.

VS over all again were very good but really do need to give the older aircraft a makeover before they become really bad. Well done again VS. [:D]

Kids eh ? I have a theory that as long as VPORT's available they'd be happy sat anywhere on the aircraft..

Sounds like VS are operating a quota system. It sounds similar to mdvipond's experiences back in May. Do you think that every BA flight has one also ?

the soup & lamb was fantastic, wife had prawn cocktail..which looked very nice i must say.....and i had a bucket load of bellini's..!....the pork was rubbish on the way home too...!

Thanks for the report.

You said you had a bacon sandwich before landing at MCO? Does that mean they have bacon sandwiches loaded as snacks on the day flights too? Last couple of times I've asked for hot snacks on East Coast flights such as MIA, JFK or BOS, I've been told there aren't any provided on 'short flights'.

As a side note, I think it's poor that you combined the outbound and return into a single report. Doesn't this add an incorrect view to the ratings dials, as the flights seem like very different experiences (such as the poor food, different IFE, different check-in experiences)?

I'm definitely one of the people who would prefer a seperate report for each leg of a journey, even if it's only one paragraph per sector? Isn't it important to try and gather if outbound or inbound flights are better/worse?
