Please be gentle its my first trip report, been watching the posts on the forum for a couple of years now,

After a particularly bad flight in economy last year I decided to take the plunge and buy PE tickets for this trip.

Took advantage of the matterbox offer of complimentary UC lounge tickets - what can i say, amazing, what a way to start a holiday. Had a lovely chap who looked after us brilliantly, and even promised not to throw us out, after i mentioned i felt out of place (in shorts and t-shirt) and was watching for people coming to chuck us out. Higly professional guy and a credit to virgin.

On the whole i was really impressed with the seat, far more comfortable than economy and being a big bloke those extra couple of inches of seat space was great.

There was a fair bit of turbulence and the fasten seatbelts sign came on a few times, but never for long.

Food was ok, was nice to eat from china crockery and have real metal cutlery.

Loved the priority boarding, and was impressed with the priority unloading of luggage at LAX - our bags were off the plane by the time we got to border control, just a shame that LAX border control took ages to process the flight.

The only real problem I had was the wonderful individual in the seat in front of me who was travelling with one of the cabin crew working the flight. As soon as the seat belt light went out he fully reclined his seat, even whilst the meals were being served. Amazing how much space a fully reclined seat steals from you isnt it? before approach to LAX the cabin crew rushed around making sure that seats were upright, window blinds up and seat belts were on. After taking him to the upper class bar halfway through the flight, his little lady let him sleep until about 5 minutes before we landed.

Hope no-one else experiences this.

Will report on the return journey in a couple of weeks time.

Welcome to V-Flyer [:)]

Glad you enjoyed your PE flight. The subject of the behaviour of individuals travelling with the crew has been discussed here before, and while you should not have experienced any negativity as a result, the real world situation is that this can and does happen. A word with the crew or the black shirted FSM should resolve this. Hopefully the return will be much better.

Thanks,
Sarah
