A quick report (for me anyway).

The was the journey for myself and mum on a tour to LAS and SFO, Bay to Breakers and home from SFO.

Decided to do the Twilight Checkin and arrived around 7pm. There was a lengthy queue however no assertive security guard forcing PAX to checkin using the machines this time [y]. After 20 mins or so we reached the desk. The operator was very pleasant and all was fine until he handed us our boarding passes. I asked about Fast Track stickers to be met with a blank look. He asked the person on the next desk and she advised him to write 'Fast track' on the boarding pass. Thankfully he wasn't convinced by that and asked one desk further over who, with much rumaging, found the roll of stickers under her feet.

Stayed overnight at the Hilton, which is I have to say rather disappointing compared with the Sofitel I stayed at previously.

The next morning headed for Fast Track and got through with no issues at all - in fact no another PAX in sight. [y]

The gate was called on time and reached there to find a long queue down the corridor however priority lane was clearly marked and worked a dream. After around 15mins wait we were on and up into the oasis of the bubble. It was pretty clear from the off that even without the sight of the FSM that this crew were up to the plate. [:D]

Checking the seatback magazine it was pretty clear that reading was going to be the order of the day - not the fault of VS - I just think the movie selection in May is pretty poor.

Lunch was served and went with the choice of chilli prawns, OK you only get 4 but they were really nice and looked great too! The portion of rice was just right. In fact the only thing I noticed was missing through the entire flight was pretzels.

Having never flown over the US the landscape really was an awesome sight ImageImage - including the giant game of Pacman near Las Vegas.

Landed on time and over to a deserted T2. After reading the stories of hell at immigration we headed over there smartly and were rewarded with a near empty hall. The woman who processed us had a fearsome look about her but upon speaking to her she was delightfully happy and chatted about the holiday to come. [y]

The luggage was already coming through and once out of that hall we ended up, well nowhere really. Wow T2 really is tiny and has no signage as to where to go. We had a hire car and couldn't see any evidence of desks so we walked over to the departures hall only for someone to thankfully guide us to a bus stop.

I have to say that aside from the lack of signage the hire car system is is first rate. A common bus (shared amongst all hire car companies) takes you to the hire car center. Once there you head to your company's desk. Unfortunately we chose Avis which was thronging and had assistants more interested in going to lunch than serving anyone. Upon asking for a map I perceived a slight arm movement directing me to the end desk whereupon I found a few dodgy and difficult to read photocopies [V]

All in all an easy journey. From here it was on to SFO a few days later on VX. I won't bore anyone with a trip report on that. All went to plan. My only gripe was that they advised us in the terminal that the plane was fitted with IFE and you could purchase headphones at the gate. Once onboard however the CC advised us that only a 1/4 of the channels were working as the 'satellite had broken' [?] A nice touch was the captain appearing at the front before push back to welcome everyone and then upon arrival at SFO to pop out to say goodbye [oo]

EDIT - added a couple of pics

WOW, never seen Twilight that busy, glad you had a good flight.
I'm obviously missing something here but what is 'the giant game of Pacman near Las Vegas'?
