We had travelled down from Manchester the previous evening and stayed at the Courtyard - so took advantage of the twilight check-in. The check-in agent was extremely friendly and efficient. After a nights sleep, we arrived at LGW and made our way through security which was fairly prompt. No CH this time (sadly) so we took breakfast elsewhere and awaited boarding. The flight was on time and we boarded Hot Lips taking our seats in rows 22 and 23. The seats were reasonably good, the IFE worked properly, and we had an attentive cabin crew that served us well throughout the flight. I was surprised how quickly the time went by. Drinks service, meal service (beef cobbler), ice-cream, a tasty wrap and snack later, we were coming in to land. We didn't experience any of the difficulties that some flyers have reported on this route.
As we were near the front of the Y cabin, disembarkation was prompt and after negotiating immigration, we were in the baggage hall. From aircraft landing to exiting the baggage hall took about 30 minutes in total.
All in all, this was a very decent economy class flight with a good cabin crew who all performed well. Our return was scheduled for the 14th April and little did we know that a volcano was about to erupt in Iceland. TR on the return flight to follow!
