First attempt at a TR so I hope someone reads it! After a good night's sleep at the Gatwick Hilton, I was thrown because the usual route to VS check in was closed. The airport was generally busier than I had expected but only one couple ahead of us at check in. Then, for once, Fast Track lived up to its name. Delicious scrambled egg and smoked salmon in the CH which was reasonably full. Very attentive and friendly staff although the treatment area seemed very quiet. This time I was firm with the shoe cleaning man- my new canvas shoes did not need a polish. I felt I had disappointed him. Gate opened 11.45 and we boarded 12.15 to friendly greetings by crew. I decided to throw caution to the wind and had pure champagne instead of the usual Buck's Fizz , followed by a screwdriver with the crisps after take off at 1.20pm. I enjoyed the Beef Wellington followed by Chocolate Torte and two glasses of wine & a Baileys. This may have contributed (the wine not the torte) to my extra confusion when the entertainment started. For some reason the list of films on the screen did not correspond to the actual films being shown. So,after trial and error I found myself enjoying "Letters to Juliet" under the heading of some sci fi film. I then fell asleep & missed the icecream but felt the turbulence. We were taking a slightly unusual route to miss Hurricane Igor & TS Julia & made landfall between Boston & NY. I was then surprised to discover that one of my favourite tennis players, David Ferrer, seemed to have the lead in "Prince of Persia" which I watched whilst enjoying my sandwiches and cup of tea. Once again I was the lucky one chosen for the questionnaire. I rather coverted the biro they gave me to fill in the form but unfortunately managed to fire it somewhere - never to be seen again. We landed 5.25pm local time in 94 degrees and so began the stampede off the plane. ( Again, I was surprised that there were 450 on board).)But then joy of joys - Disney has come to MCO... friendly ( yes that says friendly) staff greeted us with soothing southern tones as we wound our way around to the Immigration desks - no chosing the wrong queue any more- and a smile met us from the officer as we stepped up to be finger printed etc. Our cases were almost as quick to arrive as we were & totally dazed ( I think I was over the alcoholic intake by then )we were free to start our long awaited vacation. A great start to what turned out to be a super holiday.

Glad you had a good flight. I noticed that about immigration as well the last time. I actually got a "welcome back" this time rather than a "you were last here 3 months ago, why are you back as soon? :(! "

thanks
