This is the first of 2 reports after visiting Tortola, starting with the good.

Did OLCI the day before which worked fine.
As travelling some distance decided to use twighlight check in and stayed at the Premier Inn, both good. On the morning of the flight parked the car in the short stay at LGW for the fortnight which was good value compared with valet parking, through Security in no time, couldnt see fast track but no need to use it anyway.
Spent an hour or so in the Ashfield Lounge which was quiet and relaxing and made our way to the gate when boarding commenced. Joined a queue at the gate but realised that UC & PE are able to "push in" at the front, perhaps this can be done a little better.
A minor seat change at the gate but no problem and stright onboard and up the stairs to 77 & 78 A & C.
Seating was excellent with lots of space and although not modern everything clean and worked perfectly. Soon had drink of sparking in hand and started to relax, then another glass of sparking and really started to chill.
Flight full and departed on time, drinks service, meal, baileys, icecream and even the egg sandwich all great.
Yes the IFE is old and needs replacing but it worked.
Cabin crew absolutly excellent and nothing too much trouble.
All in all a fantastic start to the holiday and on this showing would have no hesitation in recommending VS PE to anyone, represents great value for money, couldnt have been better.
Soon off the plane and into the real world of ANU Immigration !!!

Thanks for the TR. So nice to read a positive report from LGW. Yes, the IFE needs updating and yes, there are more modern seats from LHR but it's still a very nice way to start a holiday. Hope you have a good time in ANU.

Shame the priority boarding was not working as it should - surely properly organised priority boarding will not only speed up boarding but also stop a lot of ill feeling by those being pushed in front of (not criticising Sunset Beach here for getting what they had paid for!)
