the return leg on Thursday evening. On arrival at the elevator to the Boston CH, there was a sign taped on the doors re-directing those airline PAX that usually share the VS CH to another area of the terminal. This meant that initially at least the CH was very quiet but it eventually filled up.

A few changes in the CH from the summer, there are now menus on the tables & they've introduced a sandwich making operation to compliment the usual cold cuts. The food was excellent as always in this small CH> Sadly though the chocolate cheesecake wasn't on offer but the VS red cupcake was a delicious alternative.

A slight delay on the inbound meant we were boarding around 20 minutes late. There was a nasty incident on boarding when a young girl had a fall on the escalator which takes you down from the gate to the air bridge. There was lots of scrambling from the first aiders amongst the crew & a visit from a doctor was necessary to clear her to travel. Amazingly in the morning there were a couple of UC PAX grumbling about the delay this caused :0

Again no personal intro from the FSM but she did sound very chirpy on the PA annoucements; on announcing the cabin light dimming for take off she told us to use the reading light if we wanted to continue reading or 'were just afraid of the dark' :D

A mug (yes, mug) of hot chocolate & i was bedded down for the 5:45 flight in no time (after wrestling the seat into the flip position). An uneventful flight & with only a slight stack delay we were into LHR. With everyone sat quietly on the way down it was really apparent how quiet this new A330 is.

Over to revivals for a welcome shower & breakfast. My colleague had taken the train to/from LHR & as were were having breakfast we found out the trains were severely delayed out of Kings Cross due to a breakdown. After a chat with the concierge about alternatives, they offered to club our mileage allowance together & chauffeur us both back to yorkshire. I was due to get a connecting BA flight to MAN with a Tristar home from there. Sadly after the conceirge had been on the phone with Upper customer service she had to retract her offer but it was great service to try to arrange something at least.

The revivals lounge is undergoing some updates; a couple of the toilets were closed for a refurb, & the magazine rack along the wall opposite the bar has now gone, freeing up space for extra tables.

Thanks for the TR, sounds like a good flight. I like a mug of hot chocolate soon after take off on a night flight, it soaks up the bubbles from the CH! :w

Thanks for the TR -- interesting to hear about Revivals -- I have been in a few times when it has been absolutely heaving, so good to hear that more space is being released.

Noooo the chocolate cake is gone :0

Thanks for the TR, a couple of interesting bits of info there. I have not been through revivals for a month or so.. good to hear they are opening it up - I wonder if they will fix the a/c too.

Sounds like a top notch night flight and a witty FSM is always welcome.

Cheers for posting 8D
