Based on my experience of the outbound flight, I guess this was a game of 2 halves !

After a wonderful time and wedding at the Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada, myself and Mrs Voyager grudgingly made our way to the austere Maurice Bishop Airport.

No problems with boarding and we boarded quickly (Ruby Tuesday) champers and some chat from a lovely lady serving us, and then a re fill ! Way to go. The remaining PAX joined at Tobago, we got more champers and a lovely couple that were on flight out asked us how wedding went. Sleep suits offered by lady that served us the champers and off we went.

Once seat belt sign came on we were offered some more drinks, we had red wine (different choices to way out and nice French and Spanish to choose from). The stewardess asked if I would like to "dine" with Mrs Voyager (wasnt asked on way out), said yes obviously and ate our dinner together. The FSM/Director ? guy came out with more wine, he was from Scotland, as are we and we had some banter/chat with him, all very pleasant. The food was sligtly better, Mrs V had Mahi Mahi, I didnt as I had been eating fish for 2 weeks , I had the beef, different from the beef stew style dish on way out, not quite as dry but a bit tastier nonetheless. Cheesecake for dessert was good, the cheese trolley never quite made it , due to first, of many bouts of turbulence, more later.

Turbulence subsided, trolley down, beds made up, luverly. Seat belt sign came on again and we entered what I can only describe as worst turbulence I have experienced (assume some of the more seasoned fliers on here may have had worse, but I am not the best flier and frankly was crapping myself), lights came on in cabin and crew were asked to buckle up. Think it lasted about 15-20 minutes, stopped but was intermittent for most of the remainder of flight over Atlantic, admittedly not as violent.

About 90 mins prior to arrival at LGW , offered breakie, freshened up and a really smooth landing.

In summary, for me and Mrs V the attitude of the cabin crew was almost the polar opposite of the ones on the way out, they were attentive, pleasant and genuinely seemed happy to serve. On the way out the FSM guy said it was great meeting us wished us well , nice touch.

I am now undecided about UC in Virgin, such two opposite experiences, this level of "inconsistency" cannot be productive, any organisation lives or dies via its people, I guess I need to make a few more UC flights to make a more objective assessment. That being said, well done Virgin, we will call it a score draw.

Thanks for posting your TR y) The inconsistency of service in all cabins but especially UC has been a point for discussion for sometime. I thought after reading a few TRs lately it was improving :?

Glad the wedding and holiday went well ^)

Firstly, Congratulations ^) ^)

So good you had such a positive experience on your return - if only VS could be consistent, it would keep folks coming back for more. I have given up on counting the number of times this has been said on V Flyer :(!

Thanks for the TR

Sounds like a top notch end to the trip. Glad to hear the wedding and time away went great.. always a downer to make the return trip to the airport after such fun. y) y)

Good to see the VS product and staff on form.. I have just read another TR where this was not the case and yep VS service inconstancy is a bit of a trouble for the airline at the moment. I am hopeful that it will improve, especially with the number of comments currently being made, both good and bad. They have got to see what works and what really doesn't. Here is hoping :?

Cheers for posting 8D
