After two weeks enjoying the warmth and sunny Cuban weather it was time to return home.

Thankfully unlike leaving HAV in November it was straight through immigration and in to the VIP lounge which a Clubhouse it is not but is a vast improvement on the general lounge area of HAV.

Having experienced the lack of priority boarding that occurs in HAV we left the lounge in time to get to the gate early and in fact only a few minutes before they called boarding. However, having called boarding they then left everyone queuing for nearly an hour before boarding commenced. Another couple left in the lounge were given no updates or notifications by the lounge staff other than there is no need to go yet as your flight is delayed. They were the last on board.

Anyway, finally on board Barbarella and into seat 9A where champers was offered after a short delay. All cabins full this time round and once on board fairly quickly away from the gate and airbourne.

Drinks orders taken and delivered with front half of cabin served first.

Again, plane already looking tired Screen in my seat would not stay in place so was held back with industrial strength gaffer tape. Image

Choice of:
Starters - Tomato and Bell pepper soup or Oak smoked salmon with Nicoise salad and ranch dressing

Main - Beef brisket with mushroom and red wine sauce, whole grain mustard mash and creamed spinach, Roasted Chicken ballotine with butternut hash cake and spiced morrocan veg or Glazed goats cheese and mediterranean risotto. (9 :$ )

Having pretty much lived on chicken or fish for Two weeks I was looking forward to something else and a decent glass of red wine so was a little disappointed when the crew came round asking for volunteers to have something other than beef as there was not enough beef in the oven to go round.

Luckily there were enough volunteers before I got asked so beef it was. It was very tasty and a huge portion. Got to see the FSM for the first (and last) time when she came round with the red wine options.

Meal done bed made and off to sleep accompanied by Ocean wave back ground music (may sound weird but it works) until the lovely chap in the seat behind me opened the window blind right behind me 90 minutes before landing. Took the option of the bacon roll which was nice enough.

Fairly quick decent into LGW and on stand pretty much on time.Good flight, nothing spectacular or outstanding.

As did we. Any recommendations for where else to go on Cuba? We spent the majority of our time in a resort which though fun could have been anywhere in the Caribbean.

JW's comment about priority boarding was interesting, as our (single) experience was of a very rigorously enforced sequence.
