A number of firsts with this flight, our return from a 4 day NY trip. First day time flight back from the East Coast, first experience of the JFK CH and first ever Seq 1!! :D (my other half thinks I'm very sad!)
The day time flight allows you to roll out of bed 24 hours before and do OLCI without having to interrupt your day. Hence shocked to get Seq 1 but did do it bang on 24 hours!

Seq 1 at last!!

Stayed at the Hilton JFK overnight (a must with NY rush hour at this time) and took their shuttle bus at 6.30am. Next time will allow more time, we were dropped off last at the 7th stop!!

Check in staff amazingly friendly and plenty of banter. Through security very quickly and into CH by 07.15. Great atmosphere and v cool 8D - has replaced the SFO CH as my favourite after LHR. Loved the male/female signs on the shower doors!

...and gents!

Boarding smooth and much better now the CH is airside.
We then had the prospect of a 7 hour day time trip home y) y) y) . Food, seat, entertainment and above all CC fabulous. Compared to the attitude of the staff on our outbound flight (previously reported) these CC were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble, everything offered, very chatty and friendly. It's such a shame when they get it wrong because as this trip shows when they get it right the service is superlative....
We didn't want to get off! But arriving in the evening, purple parking ready and waiting and home by 10pm was a revelation.
Minimal jet lag the next day...I now have a favourite flight! We're booked on VS18 out of EWR home from our summer trip this July.

Thanks for the TR. We're taking this service in just over a week, just to try the day flight. It's going to be an early start out of Manhattan for a 7.20 flight :0 but what the heck :D. Having the rest of the week off...

Still no answer to the key question though...can one get champagne in the CH at that time of day.... :w

Didn't try it myself - had a few the night before!! However don't see why not - I've done it early in the LHR CH :)

I am sorry to report that no bubbles or booze of any kind was being served in the JFK Clubhouse when I was there last Friday morning.

The menu inside had a note to say that alcohol wasn't served on *Sunday* mornings, but when we asked for some they explained it wasnt available. :(

The spa is also closed in the morning.

But the bacon sarnies and tea were in full swing!
