Outbound leg for a short trip to NYC to visit my cousin. Booked in P class having used my AMEX PE upgrade vouchers again. Wasn't sure how I would get on taking the later service across the pond but all went well and I would do it again.
Made use of the No1 Traveller Lounge. This was my third visit and I was again very disappointed with how busy it was in the evening. No tables available except those reserved for ANA which the staff wouldn't release to anyone else. I sat at the bar which wasn't the end of the world but when you are paying for lounge usage, you at least expect a seat and not a bar stool with no back! It was the same story in Feb before I took the VS603 in the evening but was blissfully quiet in December before the morning VS3.
Departure was on time though boarding was not very well organised with announcements barely audible and nobody at the door directly leading into the air bridge meaning that most of the other passengers ignored the priority boarding announcement. Onboard in seat 20D on G-VSUN, I had a warm glass of bubbly

It is worth noting that I came back on the VS10 last night operated by an A333. I am 6'2 and found the legroom in PE far more comfortable in the A343 as long as you avoid the seats with the entertainment box. On the A333 there is a barrier at every seat which reduces legroom (only by a couple of inches) but was enough to make it necessary for me to angle my legs when the person in front fully reclined.
Service onboard was very good and the Beef Stroganoff was excellent. Baileys service offered which was something that was missing on two of my recent flights

Arrival was quick and easy. This was my first visit into EWR and the immigration staff were very friendly - is it always like this?! Unfortunately the AirTrain was under construction given the late hour and it took well over an hour to get to my airport hotel.
Overall an enjoyable flight with a good crew
