Following quick 3 night trip to Chicago it was time to head home.

Check in very smooth & efficient.

Shared lounge in Chicago very basic, disappointed that champagne not available but stay still fine.

Boarded about on time, pushed back a little late but then almost immediately returned to stand due to technical problem which took approx 2 hours to fix, although disappointed at delay very happy to be told we were on our way as looked very much at one stage that we were going to have an unscheduled extra night in Chicago. Once pushed back for second time we had probably another hour before take off due to dreadful weather conditions causing one runway to be closed, took off in heavy rain & lightning & experienced much turbulence for first 20 minutes of flight. Fortunately passed through adverse weather & then had fine flight with good rather than great service, no cause for complaint though.

Communication during delay was good with much apology for inconvenience.

Landing at Heathrow was good, arriving approx 2.5 hours behind schedule to a very quiet Heathrow so very soon through immigration & picked up baggage with hardly any delay.

After problems with Purple Parking on outbound flight the pick up of car in Terminal 3 short stay car park was very efficient.

Looking forward to Barbados on 17th June.

Hope you enjoyed your trip to Chicago.

Which lounge was it.

VS used to use the JAL lounge which was very basic and such a comedown compared to the CH.

ORD does have some bad weather. Was once delayed there by snow for 2 hours!

Me too - a 3 hour delay due to snow on a connecting flight!

Glad you had a good trip - delays are unfortunate and frustrating and sometimes unavoidable but as long as the pax are kept informed, I think that's all VS can do y)

Cant remember which lounge it was, think it was shared by several airlines, I last took the same flight 4 or 5 years ago & it was the same lounge as was being used then

VS used the JAL lounge, then went to the SAS lounge and then back to what was the JAL lounge but became a Servisair lounge - if it had no windows then it was likely the Servisair lounge. Shame, the SAS lounge had no better amenities but great views of the aircraft parked up outside.

No windows as well as no bubbly so must have been the Servisair lounge.
