So after 2 absolutely fabulous weeks it was time for home, one of these days I’ll make millions on Megabucks but until then it’s time for our return flight.

A couple of days prior to our return we were in the MGM and were close to where the bag drop is…. or was as it now turns out – we noticed there were no Virgin signs anymore so I made enquiries at the desk and no, they no longer allow you to drop your bags there, just as well I checked! We had always previously checked the bags in there and wandered to the airport later. Anyhoo no big problem, there is still the opportunity to drop your bags at the Luxor or the Venetian but we decided to just leave them with the bell desk at the hotel and collect them later.

Managed to use OLCI this time so we were all set. Arrived at the airport at around 3 o’clock and checked our bags in straight away, lounge invitation was given and fast track through security although it was very busy we probably only waited about 15 minutes and then we were straight through. This is the first time we’ve returned from LAS from the new terminal and we were impressed very clean and fresh compared with the old one.

Visited the lounge and the staff in there were great, serving drinks to the table. We didn’t bother with food but there were snacks and soups available.

Flight was called for boarding and a separate line was open for UC so we were straight onboard again and took seats 8 and 9a.

Now as I have said in previous TRs we often fly this route and we have had some outstanding crew, sadly it was not the case this time. Shoddy service, no smiles, everything seemed like a chore, one drink offered prior to dinner, dinner served with one glass of wine and no top up of water or wine offered, sure I could have asked but when the crew don’t smile or make eye contact it puts me off.

I had lamb and it was tough as old boots, hubby said the salmon was nice. Hot chocolate lava cake was tepid, can’t say I was impressed at all.

I also noticed on the sheet that there were no FC statuses listed for anyone.

So I got my sleepsuit, I made my bed and tucked down and slept for about 5 hours. Woke up with 2 to go and went and asked for some water, had a brief chat with the FSM until turbulence meant I had to go back to my seat. He was nice, polite etc but the rest of the crew really did him no credit at all.

Breakfast offered and I just had some orange and tea, but again no top up offered, I’ve always been offered a second brew at least.

Flight was just over 9 hours and we circled a couple of times but landed before expected and were soon off.

No luggage priority again so a fairly long wait in the baggage hall and again our driver wasn’t there when we arrived… just one of those unlucky trips for drivers I think.

Like I said though none of this spoiled our holiday we had a fab time and can’t wait to plan our next one.

After just reading such a positive TR on the outbound it's disappointing to see such a reverse ,I sometimes think that if the CC have had a couple of days off enjoying themselves it can have a detrimental effect on the service they offer when they go back to work

What a disappointing crew. I would have mentioned it to the FSM and would certainly provide feedback to VS. Simply not good enough.

I agree about the luggage at MAN, UC tagged bags have always come out last...except when I flew back on VS86 at the end of May and they were straight off.....shocked doesn't even cover it :0
