Well we had a brilliant 2 week holiday in British Columbia, starting with a 4 night stay in Vancouver followed by renting an RV for 10 nights of gentle touring up to Whistler via Sasquatch Provincial Park and back down the beautiful coast taking in Alice Lake, Squamish, Horse Shoe Bay. y) y)

As always the holiday comes to a close but not before we had to do a little drive around to find free wifi at T-24 to do OLCI. Seats 43,44,45 AC secured but a poor showing on seq numbers ( too embarrassed to note!) v(

We ended our tour in Birch Bay State Park in Washington, USA as we got a brilliant deal on the RV rental through El Monte RV (been renting with these guys for years) but their rental outlet is just south of the Canadian border. Our last day meant a trip to drop off the RV, take our rental car back into Canada for a final visit to Granville Island and all it's wares. It was then onto YVR to bag drop with excellent, efficient and friendly agents. ^)

After checking the V-Flyer website earlier in the day, I knew that it would be Rainbow Lady taking us home which meant Vera on demand :D A quick visit to duty free, a couple of drinks at the bar then straight onto G-VSUN. The departure boards were showing the 5.55 BA departure delayed for 6.5 hours - ouch ):

Welcomed on board and got into our seats which were in ok condition. Flight time of 9 hours with 221 PAX, 11 CC and 3 flight crew. Menus handed out and a choice of sir fry beef, Parmesan chicken and pasta marinara. When meals were served I ensured that all of the menu was covered by my travelling group and the summary is

Chicken - not good
Beef - ok
Pasta - good
Child's meal - tasty!

Dessert offered (some raspberry compote) and declined (those that had it said it was ok), more water taken on board. Throughout the dinner service the CC were friendly and offered refills if water/juice was empty without this being requested - a nice touch oo)

Time to sleep now...... ][|) ][|)

Not a bad 6 hour nap in Y!! Woke up to find that I had missed breakfast which consisted of a granola bar, bagel & Philadelphia cheese and orange juice. The verdict from the others was that it was alright and a lot better than any airline breakfast with eggs in!!

We started our descent into LHR with advice from the captain that we would be held in a pattern for about 15 minutes. True to his word, we held for a bit and then landed 15 mins early. Off the plane quick time into an empty immigration hall, bags off within 15 mins and straight to Purple Parking where our car was ready and waiting as normal y)

So overall, we had great service (outbound and inbound) which was very pleasing and nearly achieves some consistency! Food better than outbound and Vera On-Demand available and abused by my friends y)

Already tweeted VS to thank for their service on both outbound and inbound. Recognition and positive comments when due!

Until the next time...........IAD in October Upper out PE back 8D 8D

Thanks for all of your comments y) I have to say after flying in Y for most of my life and having an average of 3 long haul trips for the last 10 years, you soon learn to sleep!! The few UC and PE trips that we have had have been a real pleasure....I'd rather travel 3 times a year in Y then 1 in UC :D
