Flight was mostly empty in PE/Upper, service levels good, but decidedly less good compared to previous equally loaded flight. An acceptable service for me, and ahead of competition.
Food/Drink leg was a step above last time, and again good compared to rival outbound legs I've had recently.
Upon arrival, for once, hardly a immigration queue as the VS plane was one of first to gate of the many arriving in early hours.
My problem however was baggage. PE priority was NOT followed for many of the bags - resulting in mine being last off plane, and therefore me being behind all the US/Asia flights - and then got stuck in customs queues behind many people importing TV's - no joking about 30% of people in the customs clearance each had a TV !
I then found out that Indians can go on holiday to Middle east, buy a TV, import, and when they sell same TV in India for going rate - it can offset entire ticket cost so a free holiday. You had familys each using their duty-free to achieve this. The papers had noted this, and the loophole being closed shortly (according to Mumbai mirror last week!).
