Six weeks in Naples seemed a long time but it soon passed and it was back to Orlando for the flight home. Arriving in torrential rain and a temperature of only 72F, rather than the 92F of the day before, it prepared us somewhat for home.

U/C check was quick and, as we had time to kill, we went window shopping before sampling the delights of the Delta lounge. We joined the Priority line at security, although they were all about the same length, thinking that as in the past this would be a separate line but no we just joined the people next to us in the general line after passing the first agent. Took of shoes, belt and unloaded pockets ready to go through Xray machines. Pulled out for pat down as I had left a hankie in my pocket!!

Delta lounge was pretty full but managed to find 2 seats together and waited for the call for vs74 to Manchester. Flight called about 7.45pm so made our way down to Gate 87, the furthest, and terminal was quite quiet as the only passengers were from 2 delayed BA flights to Gatwick. Arrived at Gate and walked straight on to English Rose which was strange as normally it is a fight through the congestion. No sooner had we settled in our seats than the bridge was off. Looking in PE there was only around a dozen people. Push back was about 15 mins early and Captain announced flying time of only 6 hours 50 mins and a load of 184

Dinner was very good we both had the Seared Sesame-crusted tuna followed by the Herb-infused seared fillet of beef and a couple of glasses of a very nice South African Zinfandel. Sweets of Strawberry crumble tart and Oreo cookies and cream cheesecake followed together with coffee then a glass of port for me and a whiskey for my OH. So to bed but alas not to sleep too well as we encountered a fair amount of turbulence leaving Canada. Checked the Ground Speed on the map and it was showing 711mph rather than the normal of around 550.

After breakfast we were stacked briefly over St Helens before landing at Manchester at 8.20am instead of 9.30.

6hrs 50min, wow! That is amazingly short for MCO-MAN, wonder what the Westbound flight time was like that day as there must have been a bit of a headwind. Reminds me of a previous LGW-MCO we did on the A330 where the return flight was almost 3hrs shorter than the outbound!

Thanks for the TR y) y)

Have to agree that the priority security line at Orlando is not what it makes out to be (especially in the evenings when so many European flights depart) - hence why Mrs Buns and I now get there early and make our way airside ASAP and sample the delights of the Outback Steakhouse where once upon the a time we used to enjoy McCoys.
